Designing a logo is one part of a brand identity project. Preparing it for presentation and handover brings another set of tasks.
There’s clear space to establish, variations to organise, colours to document, guidelines to assemble, and artwork to export.
These are some of the tasks behind Design Suite by Kent Graphics, a collection of tools I’m building around the brand identity workflow.
Why I started building Design Suite
Working on brand identities involves creative decisions alongside repeated preparation.
I wanted to explore ways to make that preparation easier while keeping control over the design.
Design Suite grew from that idea: developing tools around tasks I encounter in my own work as a visual and brand identity designer.
Logo Kit: logo preparation
Logo Kit focuses on tasks involved in preparing logo artwork.
Clear space is one example. The manual process can involve creating measurement shapes, duplicating them, aligning guides, and checking spacing.
With Logo Kit, I’m exploring how to make parts of that setup more straightforward.
Brand Guide: guideline preparation
A brand guideline brings together decisions about logo usage, colours, typography, and applications.
Brand Guide focuses on supporting the preparation of those documents.
The aim is to make assembly easier while leaving room for the identity’s own content and visual direction.
If you’re unfamiliar with these documents, read what a brand guideline should include.
Quick Export: artwork handover
Preparing artwork can involve several combinations of logo variations and file formats.
Quick Export focuses on that export workflow, with the aim of making file preparation easier to manage.
Color System: brand colour workflows
Color System focuses on working with brand colour palettes.
It is another part of the collection being developed around the practical tasks involved in creating and documenting a visual identity.
Following the development
Design Suite is currently in its waitlist phase.
I’ll be sharing demonstrations, development updates, and examples of the tools in use as the work progresses.
Feature availability and supported workflows will be communicated through those updates.
